We are hiring for a great client in Placentia seeking a Design Engineer to support the design and development of industrial control systems. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, sales, and operations to deliver high-quality, technically sound solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop industrial control panels in compliance with UL508A standards
• Create and modify 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings using SolidWorks
• Develop schematics and drawing packages using AutoCAD
• Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation
• Support production by creating work instructions, test documentation, and providing technical guidance on the manufacturing floor
• Troubleshoot and resolve design, documentation, or production-related issues as they arise
• Act as a technical liaison between internal teams and customers to ensure accuracy and project success
• Support the sales process by providing engineering input on product selection and design feasibility
• Assist with technical sizing, product recommendations, and best practices

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred)
• 5+ years of design engineering experience, ideally within industrial controls or automation
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
• Experience designing to UL508A standards required
• Knowledge of PLC programming and electrical codes (NEC, IEC) is a plus
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
