We are hiring for a great client in Irvine. This is a temporary opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist to handle full-cycle payroll processing, reporting, and compliance. Please apply directly if interested.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process bi-weekly payroll, including importing time records, generating paychecks, and managing direct deposits.
• Ensure accuracy in tax deductions, FLSA compliance, fringe benefit adjustments, and retroactive pay calculations.
• Process special payouts such as vacation buy-backs, sick leave conversions, and separation payments.
• Reconcile payroll reports, accounts, and quarterly tax filings; prepare year-end W-2s.
• Manage payroll expense payments and coordinate data transfers.
• Review and validate employee records for accurate payroll system updates.
• Provide assistance to employees on payroll-related inquiries, including withholding, direct deposit, and paycheck details.
• Support audits, respond to information requests, and interpret policies and legal requirements affecting payroll.
• Test payroll system updates and assist with implementation of new policies or legislative changes.
• Maintain detailed payroll records and collaborate effectively with employees, retirees, vendors, and external agencies.

Qualifications:

• Experience with full-cycle payroll processing and reconciliation.
• Proficiency in payroll systems and financial software.
• Strong understanding of tax regulations, benefits administration, and compliance requirements.
• Experience with financial software such as Workday or One Solution is beneficial but not required.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
