We are hiring for a client of ours for a Technical Writer role. This is a remote (need to be based in California), temp-to-hire opportunity. The Technical Writer will play a crucial role within the Product Team, developing clear, concise, and highly technical documentation that supports users. This includes, but is not limited to, product help articles, API documentation, how-to guides, release notes, and feature descriptions. A strong foundation in modern documentation tools and a forward-thinking approach to AI-driven content efficiencies are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain comprehensive user-facing documentation, including API documentation, help center articles, how-to guides, FAQs, and tutorials.
- Create and refine detailed release notes and feature documentation to ensure clarity and alignment with product updates.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers and engineers to understand technical features, workflows, and integration points.
- Translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for various audiences, including developers and end users.
- Ensure consistency in style=””>Leverage AI-driven efficiencies to enhance documentation accuracy, organization, and relevance.
- Optimize content structure for usability, discoverability, and engagement across multiple platforms.
- Utilize visuals, diagrams, and interactive elements to improve comprehension and usability.
- Continuously refine documentation based on product updates, analytics, and user feedback.
- Advocate for content best practices and support initiatives that improve knowledge-sharing within the company.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in SaaS or B2B software.
- Proven expertise in API documentation, technical writing, and content structuring.
- Strong understanding of modern documentation tools beyond basic word processing (e.g., Markdown, HTML, documentation platforms).
- Experience with tools such as Confluence, Notion, Zendesk, or equivalent platforms for structured technical writing.
- Comfortable leveraging AI-driven efficiencies to improve documentation processes and content accuracy.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings or strategic discussions.
