We are hiring for a respected organization in the Placentia area. This is a temporary, on-site opportunity for an Accounting Technician to support the finance team, with a strong focus on basic accounts payable functions. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented and reliable, with solid general accounting knowledge and the ability to handle routine AP responsibilities confidently.

Responsibilities:

• Process vendor invoices and prepare payment batches for review and approval.
• Review supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness before issuing payments.
• Assist with check runs, ACH transactions, and reconciliations of AP accounts.
• Monitor outstanding payables, respond to vendor inquiries, and follow up on discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and ensure proper filing and organization of payment documents.
• Provide support with payroll entry and reporting, including reviewing timesheets, updating employee deductions, and assisting with pay cycle tasks.
• Assist in preparing basic financial reports and data entry into spreadsheets or accounting systems.
• Support purchasing by entering requisitions and tracking order statuses.
• Receive and record revenue payments, manage petty cash, and support general ledger activities as needed.
• Cross-train with other finance staff and provide occasional administrative support during audits or committee meetings.
• Perform other general accounting and clerical tasks to support the daily operations of the department.

Qualifications:

• Prior experience handling basic accounts payable tasks in a professional setting is required
• General understanding of bookkeeping, purchasing, and financial procedures
• Comfortable with data entry and using accounting software and Excel
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Experience in a public or fast-paced office environment is a plus
