We are hiring on behalf of a client of ours in the public sector seeking a temporary Administrative Assistant. This position is ideal for someone who is professional, poised under pressure, and has strong administrative and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and retrieve messages from a voicemail system and return calls in a calm, professional manner
- Create and manage cases using internal software
- Prepare various types of notices for mailing
- Assemble mailing materials, including certified and regular mail envelopes
- Accurately apply postage and prepare outgoing mail
- Assist with general administrative duties as needed
Requirements:
- Ability to handle incoming calls from the public with patience and professionalism
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Previous administrative or clerical experience in a government or high-volume office setting preferred
