We are hiring for a great client seeking a Safety & Risk Coordinator for a 6-month temporary assignment. This individual will play a key role in supporting the organization’s safety culture, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and assisting in minimizing workplace hazards and risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of employee health and safety programs including ergonomics, hazard abatement, occupational safety, and environmental compliance.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits across facilities; document hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor compliance with Cal/OSHA regulations; maintain safety records including OSHA 300/300A logs and training documentation.
- Assist with accident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up to ensure completion of corrective actions.
- Coordinate and facilitate safety training programs; maintain training materials and attendance records.
- Manage documentation related to the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) and workplace safety policies.
- Oversee ergonomic evaluations and coordinate accommodations as needed.
- Support Workers’ Compensation reporting and communications with claims administrators.
- Coordinate the delivery of emergency preparedness and safety drills.
- Serve as liaison with internal teams to promote best practices and compliance with safety procedures.
- Lead or support the organization’s Safety Committee; maintain meeting records and track follow-ups.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience supporting health and safety programs, preferably in a public agency.
- Strong understanding of Cal/OSHA regulations and safety documentation requirements.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, and training.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety tracking/reporting software.
- Excellent communication, organization, and documentation skills.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certifications are a plus.
- OSHA General Industry Safety Standards Training certification preferred.
